In September 2024, I was working as a server at a restaurant; I came home after a shift one night and had a weird feeling in my right ankle. That night, I woke up in a lot of pain. My ankle had ballooned. I couldn’t pinpoint what had happened, or what set it off. I also couldn’t sleep.

I went to an urgent care center the next day. The provider there said it was probably just an ankle sprain and would be better in a week or two. I was told to apply ice and stay off my foot.
