The 26-year-old reached an impressive four finals throughout the year, yet won none of them. Davidovich Fokina has an unfortunate track record of collapsing in big moments.

In February, he looked to be cruising to a first-ever career title at the Delray Beach Open. He led 5-2 in the deciding set and had two match points before he completely crumbled, losing five games in a row, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Such collapses you would only expect to see on the odd occasion.
