ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WTVD) -- Two people were arrested Friday in connection with a murder and shooting that occurred last week in Rocky Mount.

On Nov. 26, around 1:30 a.m., Rocky Mount Police Department (RMPD) responded to a shooting in the 1400 block of S. Franklin Street. Officers found two people with gunshot wounds. One, later identified as Britnee McKnight, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other, Tyquan Garrett, was taken to ECU Health for treatment.

Following an investigation, authorities identified Qua'Damion Harris-Johnson, 29, and Vincent Brunson, 26, as suspects in the double shooting.

Brunson was apprehended Friday at a home in the 1600 block of Hammond Street by the RMPD's Special Response Team. Harris-Johnson was later taken into custody after a vehicle pursuit with a
