Two people have been arrested after a festive nutcracker statue, which sings to children on their way home from school, was stolen from a business in Kent.

The 5ft figure was taken from outside Luke Allum Funeral Directors in Sheerness. Owner Luke Allum said the nutcracker had become a highlight for children in the town and was put up around 3pm so it could entertain them on their way home from school.

Luke Allum Funeral Directors also runs a Tree of Remembrance and a post box for children to send letters to loved ones in heaven, adding to their festive initiatives.
