CINCINNATI —

The Cincinnati Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place Saturday morning in Westwood.

According to the department, reports about the shooting first came in to them at approximately 6:25 a.m., with officers responding to an apartment complex located on the 2400 block of Westwood Northern Boulevard. Advertisement

Upon arrival, officers say that they located a victim with a gunshot wound and immediately began administering CPR.

CPD did not provide any additional information about the status of the victim, but did say that the department's Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.

Officers say that a suspect was taken into police custody at the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
