CINCINNATI —

Cincinnati police are investigating a fatal shooting in Hartwell.

According to CPD, the shooting occurred on the 70 block of Ferndale Avenue on Friday night. Advertisement

Officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 8 p.m.

First responders say that when they arrived on scene, they found a victim with a gunshot wound.

He was then transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has since been identified by officials as Johnie Deontae Thomas, 27.

There is no word yet about a possible suspect in the case.
