A few minutes after 10 o’clock Saturday morning, a public statement was issued from the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario regarding a sudden suspension of ferry services to and from Wolfe Island until Sunday evening.

According to an email, the last run from the Kingston dock would be at 11:00 a.m., and the last run from the Marysville dock would be at 11:40 a.m., due to a “current shortage of crew.”

The MTO stated that they were “actively working to meet vessel manning requirements and resume operations as quickly as possible.”

They acknowledged the importance of the ferry connection and “the impact that this disruption will have” and thanked the public for their “patience and understanding.”
