Body found in shed that was on fire on Arlington Street in Akron

Akron firefighters responding to reports of a fire behind a former drugstore found a body in a shed Dec. 6.

The fire was reported before 10 a.m. in the 1100 block of South Arlington Street, the site formerly occupied by Walgreens.

The shed was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and the fire was extinguished, according to a fire department news release. The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office responded after the body was discovered in the shed.

The cause and the origin of the fire are under investigation.
