NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - An investigation is underway following a crash in New Haven on Friday night.
At around 11:13 p.m. officers were called to the area of Union Avenue and State Street after a report of a bicyclist that was struck by a vehicle, the police department said.
When crews arrived, they found a man who was lying on the ground, and bleeding from his head.
Officials said the driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and is cooperating with police.
Following an investigation and video footage, it was revealed that the bicyclist was going the wrong way on State Street then crossed over to Water Street in the middle of the roadway.
Then, as the vehicle was traveling northbound on State Street and approached Water Street and they both collided.
