You’re not supposed to stroll into Mackey Arena, home of the country’s top-ranked men's basketball team, and skip out with a victory. You’re certainly not supposed to absolutely demolish No. 1 Purdue, 81-58, for the worst home loss by a top-ranked team in history.

But, I suppose, you’re not supposed to take a team that went 2-22 one year and end up in the Sweet 16 the next. Nor are you supposed to build a consistent national contender at Iowa State .
