A young British Liverpool FC fan has died in Tenerife, with authorities investigating the possibility of murder.
The man, identified so far only by his first name of Harry, was cycling on the Spanish island when he was struck in a hit-and-run crash, which had signs of being deliberate.
He was pronounced dead at the scene on the evening of December 1, with the alarm raised around 8pm in the southern municipality of Arona.
The victim had been cycling on the TF-652 road between Las Chafiras and the fishing village of Las Galletas.
Local newspaper El Dia said the Civil Guard were investigating whether the ‘British’ man had been ‘murdered.’ It said: ‘After initial inquiries officers reached the early conclusion that he wasn’t run over by accident.’
