KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Darryn Peterson wasn’t feeling his best Sunday in his return to action for Kansas basketball.

According to KU coach Bill Self, Peterson was sick. Heading into game day, it wasn’t clear if the freshman guard would play against Missouri . It would have been the eighth straight game he missed, as he was unavailable the previous seven after dealing with a hamstring injury.

But Peterson was able to play in Kansas City, Missouri. He finished with 17 points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal, helping guide the No. 21 Jayhawks (7-3) to an 80-60 win against the Tigers in this rivalry matchup.
