An ANPR camera in Derby branded as a "cash cow" by councillors has brought the authority in £55,000 this year, new figures have revealed.

The figures, released by Derby City Council , show how much money the council has made from the ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera over the yellow box junction at St Alkmund's Way/Ford Street .

Drivers should not stop in yellow cross-hatched boxes, and the camera looks to penalise those who are caught doing so. However, a number of Conservative councillors in Derby raised concerns over the camera and even branded it a "cash cow".
