FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. —

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says they are conducting a death investigation Sunday.

Deputies say they responded to a report of an unresponsive person lying on the side of Kesler Road. When they arrived, they tried to do life-saving measures, but it was ineffective.

The sheriff's office has requested the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to investigate the circumstances around the death.

They say the investigation remains active and ongoing.
