A weather warning has been put in place for Edinburgh and the Lothians as heavy conditions are set to batter the capital. The yellow weather warning for rain is set to come into force from 6am on Tuesday December 9 and is set to last until midday.

A further yellow warning has also been put in place for heavy wind from 12pm on December 9 and is set to remain in force until Wednesday morning at 6am. Locals have been warned to expect some travel disruption over the coming days.

It comes as Storm Bram makes its way across the UK bringing blustery and wet conditions. It is understood gusts of around 50mph are set to hit Edinburgh with other areas reaching 70mph.
