Brits may receive additional funds from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) this month. Should temperatures plummet to a particular threshold, you might qualify for Cold Weather Payments.

These payments are valued at £25 each and are distributed when the mercury falls to 0C or lower for seven consecutive days. Nevertheless, only specific groups are entitled to receive this financial support.

In an update shared on social media platform X, the DWP stated: "You could be eligible for Cold Weather Payments if you live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland. If you are eligible you will be paid automatically in Dec 2025."
