The Department for Work and Pensions has issued details about the scheme

Some Brits could get extra cash from the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) this month. If temperatures drop to a certain level you could be eligible for Cold Weather Payments .

These are worth £25 a time and are rewarded whenever it drops to 0C or below for seven days . However, only certain groups qualify for the cash.

In a reminder posted to social media platform X, the DWP said: “You could be eligible for Cold Weather Payments if you live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland. If you are eligible you will be paid automatically in Dec 2025.”
