LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville firefighter is injured after a vacant building caught fire Saturday night in the Portland neighborhood.

Louisville Fire Department firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of North 19th Street. When crews arrived, they found a fire on the second floor of a two-story building.

Crews confined the fire to the second floor, building nearby were not impacted. Firefighters conducted searches throughout the building, and no occupants were found.

A total of 25 firefighters, four engines and two trucks were needed to extinguish the fire, which remains under investigation by Louisville Metro Arson. However, one firefighter sustained non-life-threatening injuries from a fall during the operation.

No other injuries were reported.
