FRIDLEY, Minn. — Crews braved frigid conditions early Monday as they put down a fire at a skilled care nursing home in Fridley.
Firefighters responded to The Estates at Fridley, 5700 East River Road, around 5:30 a.m. Details are scarce at this time, but the incident appeared to be under control shortly after a KARE 11 news crew arrived.
Engines from Andover and Columbia Heights were also involved in the effort.
Fridley's fire chief says all 120 residents were evacuated from the building as a precaution and sheltered in a Metro Transit bus. The fire was confined to one room, and residents were allowed back in.
At this time, there is no word on injuries from the fire.
