Edinburgh emergency services were scrambled to a British Airways flight at the airport on Monday afternoon which suspended all flights. Fire crews were called to flight BA1443 which was scheduled to land at London Heathrow around 12.30pm.
However, shortly after departing from Edinburgh Airport , the aircraft squawked a 7700 code - signalling a general emergency onboard. After circling Stirling for some time, the flight landed at the capital's airport around 12.15pm but was met with a number of emergency services.
Pictures shared with Edinburgh Live show the plane on the runway with around four fire vehicles at the scene. It comes after pilots identified a technical issue after take-off.
Passengers were transported back to the terminal via coaches. Flight tracking website, FlightRadar
