Police have issued an update after a large emergency services presence was seen in a North Wales town over the weekend. Locals reported the presence of armed police around Chirk on Saturday afternoon.
Initial reports indicated officers on Coronation Drive, Walden Crescent and Princes Avenue. However, patrol cars and officers were also spotted throughout various parts of the town.
The ambulance service was also present at the scene, NorthWalesLive reports.
One local resident said of the scene: "There are police everywhere around Chirk this afternoon. They are the coppers with face coverings and hard protection
