Black cab fares could soon rise in Wirral as the union representing drivers pushes for an increase to day fares. However other drivers are concerned the rise could price people out as they try to compete with the likes of Uber.
At a regulatory and general purposes committee on December 10, Wirral councillors will debate whether to approve a proposal put forward by Unite the Union to raise hackney carriage fares in the borough. This is following a number of objections received by the local authority.
Unite had put forward a proposal earlier this year which went out for feedback with an advertisement in the Wirral Globe as well as communication to drivers directly. As a result, four people wrote back to the
