Edinburgh Airport has temporarily halted all incoming flights following an unexpected landing by a British Airways plane due to a malfunction with its landing gear.
The aircraft managed to land safely on the runway, an airport official confirmed. Staff are assisting passengers off the faulty plane.
A spokesperson for the airport said that while incoming flights are currently suspended, they anticipate resuming normal operations later, though no specific timeline was provided.
British Airways flight BA1443, en route from Edinburgh to London Heathrow, declared a 7700 general emergency after experiencing difficulties retracting its landing gear, as per online flight tracker reports.
