NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide in the Willowbrook neighborhood of New Orleans East.

Responding NOPD officers found an adult male shot to death Monday morning in New Orleans East.

According to police, officers responded to the intersection of Willowbrook Drive and Michoud Boulevard after receiving an initial notification around 7:33 a.m. Officers found a man with a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional details, including the victim’s identity or potential suspect information, were released. Police said the investigation remains open.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victims and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
