A man caught kissing another woman during a night out celebrating his anniversary later threatened to kill his deaf partner using sign language. Robert Keegan had been in a relationship with the woman since 2014 and they have two children together, Newcastle Crown Court heard.

On October 14 2022, they were to a pub in Newcastle to celebrate their anniversary and while they were there, they got talking to two women and ended up going to a nightclub with them. Nicoleta Alistari, prosecuting, said: "At various points, the defendant disappeared with one of the women.

"After they had been missing for four hours, (the woman's) friend found her and went with the complainant to meet her.
