Winter storm warnings and advisories are in effect for northwest Michigan, and the eastern Upper Peninsula in anticipation of accumulating lake-effect snow that will begin falling Monday afternoon, Dec. 8.

A clipper system is forecast to move into the Great Lakes region , creating wintry conditions statewide this week. Heavy snow and freezing rain is expected, accumulating the most within Michigan's west Michigan snowbelt Monday, Dec. 8, to Wednesday, Dec. 10, according to the National Weather Service.
