AVON – Don’t throw away those plastic bags.
A group of students at Avon High School are working alongside the Lorain County Solid Waste Management District to collect as many plastic bags as possible. The LCSWMD is having a contest with area schools to see which school can collect the most plastic bags by weight by December 31.
Folks can drop off their plastic bags at designated donation boxes at the Avon High School, Avon’s City Hall, Avon Senior Center, Graffiti Wearhouse, and the Avon Library. And, the SAVE (Students of Avon who Value the Environment) club from AHS is hoping they come out on top.
The president of the SAVE Club is Avon High School senior Anthony Miceli, who said he is deeply concerned about protecting the environment and works to help Mother Earth wherever he can. Thi
