A quiet Virginia park turned into a crime scene over the weekend after officers found homophobic, antisemitic, and other hateful graffiti sprayed across multiple areas, police said Monday.

Officers were called to Andrew Leitch Park on Dale Boulevard in Woodbridge shortly after 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, to investigate vandalism, according to Prince William County Police.

Police said they found “several locations within the park were spray-painted with markings that included homophobic and antisemitic remarks, as well as other derogatory language and images.”

Investigators believe the vandalism happened sometime between Dec. 3 and Dec. 7.

No suspect description or additional information has been released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
