GOODYEAR, AZ (AZFamily) — A teen boy is hospitalized after being hit by a car near a West Valley high school on Monday morning.
The collision happened around 8 a.m., along Yuma Road just east of Sarival Avenue in Goodyear. While few details have been released, Goodyear police say the boy was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver remained on scene, and investigators do not believe impairment was a factor in the collision.
Police believe the teen is a student at Desert Edge High School , located just east of the crash scene.
It wasn’t the only incident in the West Valley involving a student struck by a car. Around the same time, another juvenile was hit near Hearn and Reems roads , north of Waddell Road.
