A person was fatally injured in a motor vehicle crash in East Boston early Friday, Boston police said.
Officers responded around 2:18 a.m. to the 400 block of Chelsea Street near the intersection with East Eagle Street to investigate reports of a motor vehicle crash, police wrote in a brief statement.
“Boston EMS was already rendering aid to the victim, who was subsequently determined to be non-viable,“ police wrote.
The department’s fatal crash team and homicide detective responded to the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
No further information was immediately available.
