Residents at a care home have been ‘shocked and saddened’ following the theft of lights from the facility.

Staff at Campsie View Care Home in Kirkintilloch recently installed the festive ornaments on several large trees on the property.

However, the next morning they found that the lights had been pilfered.

Home manager Claire Alexander expressed deep disappointment over the incident, noting it had had an emotional impact on residents.

She remarked: “The theft of our outside Christmas lights is very sad and disappointing. The real impact of this theft is our residents, who were taking great enjoyment from seeing them from our windows, and they really brightened up our home in the dark periods of winter.”
