With Fanshawe College unable to support its longtime FM station, students in the soon-to-be-shuttered radio program wonder if there will still be an FM radio station for them to use in their final term.

They, alongside students from the journalism program, submitted a petition Monday to the college seeking a “tuition reassessment or compensation” under the suspicion they’ll lose access to CIXX-FM, known as 106.9 The X, for the upcoming winter term.

Fanshawe College officials deny the suggestion, saying plans are in the works to keep the station on-air into next year.
