OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) - Court records have revealed that several Good Samaritans protected an 85-year-old woman during a hammer attack at a grocery store parking lot.

Johnson County, Kansas, District Court records indicate that Christopher A. Brewer, 50, has been charged with aggravated battery.

The charges follow a Nov. 30 attack near W. 119th and S. Ridgeview Rd. in Olathe. Court documents revealed the brutal nature of the attack as the woman suffered lacerations so severe that her nasal bone was visible.

The Olathe Police Department said the woman was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors diagnosed facial fractures. She underwent surgery and was placed in the ICU.
