KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A man died early Monday after being shot late Sunday in the 2900 block of Van Brunt Blvd. just north of I-70 and VA Hospital.

Officers were dispatched to a convenience store in the 2900 block of Van Brunt shortly before midnight on Dec. 7 after reports of a shooting. They found what appeared to be a crime scene but did not locate a victim.

Shortly after midnight, hospital staff notified officers that a shooting victim had arrived by private vehicle with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Investigators and crime-scene personnel responded to both locations and determined the victim had been shot in the 2900 block of Van Brunt and that the two calls were related, police said.

At about 2 a.m. on Dec. 8, officers were notified that the victim had died at the hospital.
