CORVALLIS, Ore. -Firefighters in Corvallis were busy on Friday night as they responded to two separate structure fires across the city, according to Corvallis Fire Department officials.

CFD authorities said that the first fire on Dec. 5 broke out in a duplex in southwest Corvallis. Crews quickly extinguished the blaze in the living room and ensured the safety of neighboring residents. One person suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital. A pet rabbit was rescued and returned to its owner, but four residents were displaced due to extensive damage, fire officials said. Authorities said that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
