BRAINERD — As the holidays approach, it can be a difficult time for those who are dealing with the loss of a loved one.

To support those grieving the death of a friend or family member, Essentia Health will host a memorial service.

The annual Tree of Life Memorial Service and Lighting will occur at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, in the River Room at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.

This event remembers the lives and legacies of loved ones through poems, scriptures, reading of names and the hanging of holiday ornaments. While the event is free, donations are appreciated.

Proceeds will go to support Essentia Health's grief support services program.

Attendees are encouraged to stay for refreshments and fellowship after the ceremony.
