A toy from Crayola is being recalled because children can swallow loose magnets, officials said.
CreateOn recalled about 9,400 Crayola-branded Pip-Cubes, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, Dec. 4. The magnetic building cubes were sold nationwide in 24-piece and 27-piece sets.
The seams on the cubes can split, causing high-powered magnets to fall out of them. If a child swallows more than one magnet, the pieces can pull together inside the body and cause severe internal damage.
Swallowing magnets can lead to intestinal twisting, perforations, blood poisoning, and even death. No injuries have been reported, according to the CPSC.
The recalled sets came in "Bold Colors" or "Glitter" designs and were imprinted with the Crayola logo. The toys were sold at Michaels stores, Amazon, and other online retailers between May and July 2025 for about $20 to $35.
Parents are urged to take the cubes away from children immediately and contact CreateOn for a replacement set. The company will provide a prepaid return label so families can return the recalled cubes.
You can learn more about the recall on CreateOn's website.
