First Lady Melania Trump joined a Toys for Toys charity drive at Marine Corps Base Quantico near Washington, D.C. to spread Christmas cheer over the holidays.
After delivering remarks, the first lady met with children and handed out toys at the event.
"For more than 75 years, Marines and volunteers across America collect and deliver new toys to children who need a little extra joy during Christmas, all wrapped with love and great care. To everyone here at Quantico and all those who support the Toys for Tots Foundation, thank you," she said.
Last week, the first lady visited Children's National Hospital in Washington, to spread Christmas cheer to children and their families there.
During Monday's remarks, the first lady pointed out that many of the children who benefit from the charity drive have a parent who is serving far from home.
"I know this can be difficult. On behalf of our nation, thank you. And thank you to the parents and guardians who are here today. Your support and resilience empower our Marines to serve with honor and distinction," she said.
