Burlington's ongoing Twin Cities expansion will bring a new store to the south metro.

The discount retailer is coming to the Eagan Promenade shopping center, taking over the space left vacant when OfficeMax closed last summer after nearly 30 years in Eagan.

There's no word yet on the opening date, but a sign on the window confirms work on the new store is underway.

Earlier this year, Burlington announced the rollout of a new store layout aimed at improving the shopping experience with more efficient, easy-to-stop aisles.

Shoppers can expect to find the refreshed store design at all new stores, including the Twin Cities' newest Burlington at St. Paul's Sun Ray Shopping Center, and remaining stores are expected to transition to the new format by the end of 2026.
