STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Chipotle at Staten Island Mall abruptly closed Monday evening, sparking concern among customers and chatter on social media. Readers contacted the Advance/SILive.com food department for answers.
The company did not respond to comment by deadline, but its website lists the Mall location at 2655 Richmond Ave. as “temporarily closed.” A recorded message at the restaurant says it will reopen at 10:45 a.m. The site currently holds an “A” grade from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
