A busy Midlands road is shut following a late night serious collision. The M6 in Warwickshire is closed northbound between J1 Rugby and J2 Coventry/M69 due to the crash.

Emergency services including Warwickshire Police are in attendance. According to National Highways due to the nature of the incident the road is expected to remain closed for several hours.

Diversion routes are in place as the motorway is anticipated to remain shut through the night and into the early hours of Tuesday, December 9.
