Seven Monroe County Region girls basketball teams tipped off their seasons Monday night.
There also was one boys game on the schedule, pitting two winless teams against each other.
Gibraltar Carlson was able to enjoy the thrill of victory in knocking off Flat Rock.
Dundee, Airport, Carlson and Ida were girls winners on Monday, Dec. 8.

GIRLS
Dundee 36, Jefferson 29
DUNDEE – Maddie Salenbien scored 11 points, including 7 in the opening quarter, for Dundee.
“Proud of the girls tonight,” Dundee coach Jay Briggs said. “It was a physical win, but we’re happy with the way we started. Maddie Salenbien was all over the glass.”
Ella Rath and McKenzie Heath added 9 points apiece.
Alivia LeBrun and Aubrey Hoffman led Jefferson with 9 point each.
