RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Richland School District One says it is moving forward with a comprehensive corrective action plan after an independent accounting review found gaps in financial controls, documentation, and procurement practices. The district presented its 90-day findings report Monday evening.

Superintendent Todd Walker said the review involved visiting schools and offices across the district and examining a wide range of records.

“We decided that we would take 90 days and visit various locations throughout the district, examine various documents of the district,” Walker said. “We came up with a transition team. And these are folks with great expertise from all over the country that were part of this examination and assessment.”
