COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia Police Department investigators have charged a man in connection with a death investigation from early this Wednesday morning.

According to police, 42-year-old Eleazar Del Valle Jeronimo is charged with voluntary manslaughter and possession of a weapon during a violent crime

Shortly before 7:00 a.m. on December 10, 2025, officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Byrnes Drive after a woman was found unresponsive inside the home. EMS pronounced the victim deceased on scene.

Police say the victim and suspect were in a relationship. Investigators say they believe Del Valle Jeronimo argued with the victim before he allegedly used a sharp object to kill her.
