OMAHA, Neb. —
The head of security for Terence "Bud" Crawford and two others sue the city of Omaha, Chief of Police Todd Schmaderer and multiple officers over a controversial traffic stop .
The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Nebraska Monday on behalf of Qasim Shabazz, George Williams and Nadia Metoyer. All three were passengers in the vehicle driven by Crawford on Sept. 28.
Omaha police officers Mason Gregurich and James Valencia pulled Crawford over at 12th and Capitol streets for alleged reckless driving the night of a victory parade and celebration in his honor. OPD said Crawford was going more than twice the speed limit. Police said Gregurich noticed a gun by Crawford's feet and ordered everyone out of the vehicle at gunpoint.
