NILAND — The POWER Coalition, in partnership with the Niland Chamber of Commerce, brought holiday cheer to North-End communities on Saturday, December 6, hosting nearly 200 residents, including more than 100 children, for a Christmas celebration filled with gifts, food, games, activities, and essential community resources.
Families enjoyed music, hot chocolate, arts and crafts, raffles, and a warm holiday atmosphere—while adults received information on healthy living and access to free air filters for households in need.
April Ochoa, Community Organizer for Comité Cívico del Valle and President of the Niland Chamber, emphasized the event’s purpose: “We had families of all ages. We wanted them to know we’re here for them—especially during hard times in our community.”
