Unemployed man faces attempted murder, shooting charges with $1 million bail

An unemployed El Centro man, Charles Sampson Jr., 44, was booked into the county jail Monday night on multiple serious felony charges, including attempted murder and shooting at an inhabited dwelling. Bail for each charge is set at $1,000,000. Sampson was arrested on E. Heil Ave. by the El Centro Police Department and booked at 9:20 p.m. on December 8, sheriff’s records show. The charges are: Shooting at an inhabited dwelling or vehicle, causing injury to an elder or dependent adult, attempted murder, and obstructing or resisting a public or peace officer.
