LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Georgetown Police Department arrested a person after they fled from police and shot at officers.

In a Facebook post, the department said a driver refused to comply with a traffic stop near Paynes Depot and the Bypass around 3 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Officers say the driver fled the scene, and fired multiple shots at officers, hitting and disabling the lead patrol unit. No injuries were reported.

After an extensive manhunt, Georgetown police said they located and arrested the suspect. Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, and the Lexington Police Department’s helicopter helped in the search.
