SAN ANTONIO — Without Victor Wembanyama due to injury, the San Antonio Spurs beat the New Orleans Pelicans 135-132 on the road. Harrison Barnes led the team with 24 points. The Spurs saw their 25-point lead evaporate in the second half.
De'Aaron Fox had 14 points and seven assists, and Dylan Harper finished with 22 points, a new career high. Keldon Johnson scored 12, and Julian Champagnie had 17 and six rebounds. In his return to action, Stephon Castle added 18 points and five rebounds.
The Spurs are 16-7 and will next visit the Lakers on Wednesday night for the NBA Cup knockout quarterfinal game.
