The mum and dad of a six year-old girl who died after she was hit by a truck have spoken of their enduring grief after the driver was jailed. Millie Joy Gribble - described as a 'beautiful, amazing little girl' - had just stepped off a bus in Lancashire when she was hit by an Iveco flat-bed in Lancashire being driven by Stephen Worden, 61.

Police said Millie suffered a 'catastrophic' head injury and tragically died six days later in August, 2023, with her parents at her bedside in hospital. Two other children, a boy now aged 16 and a girl now 15, were also hit in the horror crash, but thankfully they escaped serious injury.

Lancashire Police said Worden's truck hit the stationary double-decker before mounting a grass verge and hitting the children.
